Ricardo Baca Mares
As the founder of Mares Marketing, Mr. Mares takes great pride in the service that is dedicated to his clients. With over 12 years of experience in the construction and architecture fields, he has a good grasp on the nuances of contracting with governmental and private entities. Further, through his education and practical knowledge as a construction lawyer, he understands the obligations and responsibilities that are derived from each and every discipline that he represents.
Education
Mr. Mares began his formal education at the University of Texas at El Paso where he was member of the Honors Program in conjunction with the College of Civil Engineering. Mr. Mares continued his education at Texas Tech University where he completed his undergraduate and graduate education and earned his Master in Architecture degree. Mr. Mares also had the honor of studying abroad at McGill University in Montreal Quebec where he undertook classes and seminars focusing on Urban Design and Master Planning. Mr. Mares subsequently earned his law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law where he received the Dean's Leadership Award and was a member of the law fraternity of Phi Alpha Delta.
Professional Experience
Aside from being President of Mares Marketing, Mr. Mares continues to practice construction litigation with the law firm of Coats | Rose in Houston, Texas. Before joining such law firm, Mr. Mares worked with several architectural firms around Texas, where he focused primarily on commercial, industrial, and higher education projects and successfully completed the Internship Development Program as monitored by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards.
Community Involvement
Mr. Mares is actively involved in numerous organizations at the local, state and national levels where he is frequently asked to conduct legal and educational seminars. Such organizations include the American Institute of Architects (Local Chapter for Houston and San Antonio, Texas Society of Architects, as well as the University of Texas System. Mr. Mares is also a member of numerous local and national organizations including the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Mexican American Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, Hispanic National Bar Association, Texas Tech Alumni Association, San Antonio and Houston Chambers of Commerce, Texas Society of Architects, and an Associate of the American Institute of Architects as well as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
